This piece took me around 7 days to complete. It actually took me a month but it sounds better if I say it only took me 5 days (I mean 7 days) to finish. What it is, I don't really know and why I did it, that too I cannot answer with certainty. I just know that for some strange reason I had to draw a 3 dimmensional hand coming out of a picture to paint a picture.
I did this piece last year for my father for Christmas. It's supposed to be a bear but for some reason he looks more like a racoon to me. At first I didn't like it, but the purple grew on me.
First, let me just say I am not an artist and don't pretend to be an artist. I simply do these carvings and paintings because my little brain sends synaptic messages through my fingers and forces me to pick up a carving knife or a paint brush. If it were up to me, I would pick up a good glass of scotch and a lint brush but as I already said, my brain forces me to do things and I think it's trying to control me. These are just a few of the pieces....
(obviously, this is a bear)
(another bull for the wife)
(carved out of Poplar Wood)
(Texas star shinning bright)
(it's about Bat time)
(the three Bat signals)
(move over moose)
(look what I caught)
(please don't feed the bears)
(the elephant trunk) This 50 foot tree almost crushed our house in 2004
